    I just wanted to say that i own a taig mill and am also very pleased with the purchase. Unlike the cheap machines when you turn a taig dial .001 you get .001. I have had my taig about five years and the only thing i had to do is replace the headstock bearings this year and i bought the best...

    I need to make knives for a siding slitter. The knives are 3" around 3/4 thick. They cut alum siding. What type of metal should i use for this.

    Problem's with a parting tool.

    I have done alot of parting off with a mini-lathe i always used low gear and find that the thinnest partoff tool works the best with quite a bit of feed more then you think. There was someone on this board that uses hack saw blades and grinds them like cut off tools and made a holder for them...

    Good to hear you are narrowing down the issue i was just about to see if you did the leakdown test that was posted before. I find that to be a very helpful test being a tech. I hope that the intake valve fixes the issue.

    Brain i can't remember if you did this or not, but did you try using valve grinding compound and an a drill to get your valves to seat. I'am sure you thought of this.

    Hi this is a very interesting build. I have a few questions first want is parkinzing, second i noticed that you use round tools for your lathe is there a reason for this or just that is what you like, are they easier to grind?
