Bummer another un obtainable obsolete walbro carb. Not your fault but it seems every time I find a good sized model engine carb it seams to be "obsolete" WT 456 Repair kits yes, an actual carb? not available unless I am searching incorrectly. Thank you for your post and your engine runs...

Very Interesting . Are there any part numbers on the Walbro or can they only be purchased from the engine producer RCGF?

Need bezel for old Mitutoyo calipers

I machined my own out of Lexan . Not domed, just flat with a small counter bore for the center indicator shaft. Not elegant but it works. Small amount of clear fingernail polish on the od does the final sealing/holding. You can machine a small bevel lip so it snaps in place.

    Porsche 917 flat 12 engine

I may be late to reply on this. But I have found CDI ignitions make a LOT of electronic / rf noise. I suggest you try running 1 system and see if you get any sparks from the powered up but hall removed from the distributor of the disabled system. Often the cdi #1 will trigger system #2. I...

Ab Fab. Your work is always inspiring. Just a small note for what it is worth to others. For somewhat larger engines the stainless steel stiffener from old wind shield wiper blades makes great dip stick stock. And Free! Appropriate for ~ 1/4 scale engines . Way too big for this beauty...

is alluminium or brass better for steam engine pistons

I am a fan of Derlron/Acetal? pistons in a polished bore . Air engine of course. Just put in a bunch of small piston ring grooves for the chevron effect ? Just like oil retention groves in a ring less CI piston. That is what I used in my Peaucelliar Beam engine and also My Halo 5 cylinder...

    Offenhauser Mighty Midget Racing engine

Man that is small!! it is one thing to look at your cad drawings but with a real life block next to a caliper. It really brings it in to reality. Too much like watch making for me. Perhaps 2x would be big enough for these old eyes.

    Hoglet ignition

You need 2 coils 1 is a wasted spark . I use the Sage IGBT driver available on this website. you do have to trigger the 2 cylinders differently. So 1 driver 2 coils in series on the primary's 2 triggers Hall with 2 magnets etc. and the driver of your choice. Or dual output cdi available...

Sight glass for fuel tanks etc

Yes I recently used a boat, aka naval sink drain as a gas tank. Worked great. No plating as it was Naval / ship related.

How about putting the starter in the transmission through a 1 way bearing, as in ,shrink your drill starter inside the soon to be cnc'd transmission?
