    Found some goddies

Interesting. So do you know where they usually go wrong? Are they not converting lb to kg before multiplying by 9.81? I think this may be where we metric countries may be at a slight advantage, almost everyone already knows their 'weight' in kg.

Damn! Wish there were stores here that stocked materials. Sure, it's probably expensive, but it's immediately available (short drive maybe).

That's pretty sad. Are you located in a country using the Imperial system? It's only slightly more difficult converting from pounds to Newtons, but it can easily cause confusion.

~1030 N  Not hard. Anyone schooled on the metric system should be able to answer that. Edit: oops, I had opened a stack of threads in background tabs, by the time I got to this one there were replies I hadn't seen. Ignore me :D

    Feedback for "Android DRO"

Yeah sorry, I had a feeling it would be. I'm no programmer but I have done a fair amount of coding for PIC's over the last two decades, so was trying to think how I would do it and it did not seem simple. Anyway, good to know it is a long term goal. It does make sense to get the functionality in...

    Feedback for "Android DRO"

Hi Yuriy, the screen shot's look great! They seem to follow the KISS principle, are easy to understand and are neat and tidy Thm: As soon as I have time away from work, I'll be building myself an interface so I can put your software to use and provide more useful feedback based on experience...

    Creating .pdf files

Seriously? $1500 for an SDK and a further $1000 for the PDF addon? That's enough for five Adobe Pro licen$es right there. You've really done your homework and found the right target audience here. Bravo. Go away spammer.

    Wankels

It was NSU that failed. However, the NSU name can still be found on the Mazda engines as NSU still owns the rights to the design, even though Mazda did all the hard work and solved all the problems. It was the R&D that nearly sent Mazda broke. All Wankel engine manufacturers are licensed to NSU...

    Cutting internal gears

I have seen people use lathes and milling machines as shapers, not ideal obviously, but doable. Maybe a press and a broach made to the right form? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSnWINtDAfs

mounting a 5 inch dia. aluminum on mini lathe???

Turn up a mandrel and use wax or some other heat sensitive adhesive(like Shellac) to glue the plate to the mandrel. I have done this successfully to 7" dia on a minilathe. http://www.homemodelenginemachinist.com/f25/all-about-wax-chucks-15752/ Keep in mind, the larger the contact area the...

    Measurement equipment

Many of the Mitu mic's still have graduations on the barrel so if the battery fails, you are not stuffed. Not sure if there are any calipers that have this.

Not sure I understand. Can you post a screen capture of the other forum as an example of what you mean? This forum has the same basic layout to every other forum I have ever frequented.

Those Mitu prices are great! ¥13,125 is approx $145 aussie. Cheapest I've ever seen them locally was more than double the price, and that was some time ago. Just checked Element14 (aka Farnell / Newark) and what appears to be the same Mitu 25mm Digital (293-832) is over $400. ¥7140 for the...
