I think that's what I have seen on most turners so that you can just adjust the cutter post (turn it around) to cut concave, something that only has 2 cutting edges. Thank you Paul

This is what I have so far...it's almost completed...just need to figure out what type of insert cutter to use ??? I also need to cut the under side of cutter post once cutter is decided !!! Was looking at something like this...only live a few miles away from MSC...

What type of insert are you using for your ball turners ?? DNMG or DNMS ? I don't know what the major difference is. I would like to use this style as to use making a concave radius as well. Thanx again

I have almost completed my radius turner. My question is...If using a contour insert (diamond shaper) do you have to angle the the top of the holder ? If so then how would you use the opposite end for doing concave work ? Or do I just make the tool holder parallel to the center line of lathe...

I was wandering what you use as a coolant dispenser if you had NO compressed air ?? What I'm using now is applying by acid brush. Not the most efficient method but it's what I have. Is there someting to make or available to use without air ? Any electrical systems...maybe like fish tank pumps or...

Steamer... The Bottom right is the lead screw gear.... Behind that the spacer is fixed to the shaft (I think) or at least pressed on. I'm guessing that you are calling the intermeadiate gear the one in the middle with 2 gears on the stud. That is pushed up to mesh with the drive gear on top...

Here is one with a 45 on (C) and doesn't touch (D) I don't have any others that would come close. I'm adding the following...A has a 40, B has a 65, and D with a 50...with C being 45

How do you set change gears on mini lathe for threading? I have a 7x16 Micro mark lathe. I want to cut 7/16"x 20 threads. Looking in the booklet it states (A)= 40 and (D)= 50 ... on the change gear cover it states (A)=40, (B)=65,and (D)=50 !!! So which one do you use ? Also, I have tried to...

I got back to my basement and finished up the 3 bolt mod. Once I took everything apart again and got the lead screw block off...it wasn't stripped but had some junk in the threads. Lined it all back up and works great again. Now tramming begins..again !!

Well...Got the 3 bolt mod in now !! Not so bad except for drilling that 1st 1/8" hole. Took longer than it should have my Dewalt batt's kept running dry !! When I went to put it back together...the up and down screw block might be stripped out now !! >:( I work helicopters and use torque all...

I have removed the center bolt and the tilt nut and washer off the head. I see nothing else holding it on !! I have it horizontal on the table. It won't come off !! It wiggles but that's it !! Even had some phenalic shims between head and colume...What's the trick ?? Thanx again... V45
