Mills 1.3cc diesel - Plans by Ron Chernich from Model Engine Builder magazine

You can get a rubber finger sleeve from most model shops or you can make a starting stick from a piece of dowel about 1/2" diameter with some silicone exhaust tubing forced over one end to protect the prop.

    Setting up my new shop

Hi John, Those are a really nice compressor, I have just upgraded from a similar unit on 2 of my vans. I never really had any problems with them apart from replacing the auto cut off switch 3 times on 1 of the units ( I still have no idea why it kept failing), thankfully they usually fail safe...

Top quality work and photos Mike, an old friend of mine had a Britton Norman Islander RC aircraft running on a pair of these, everyone stopped what they were doing when it started. David

    For those that like Radials

Nice pic Bogs, My first thoughts were gyroscopic precession but I don't think that is right as on this design it is just the crank that rotates not the whole engine rotating around the crank like on the early aircraft applications. ??? ??? ??? David

    TB3 carbs...fuel preference?

Hi all, I'm gonna try to get some materials ordered for the carburetors this weekend and would like to know what your fuel preference is. I suspect that most people would like the liquid fuel carb but I'm more than happy to make the propane version as well. Cheers David

    LTD stirling engine

Hi Brian, I'm afraid I don't have any plans for the engine as I sort of just made it up as I went along, the displacer cylinder is plastic, if you go to your local discount kitchenware store you should be able to pick up a polycarbonate jar pretty for next to nothing. Obviously this sets the...

    one year today?????

lol, It's called a homopolar motor, it works in a similar way to an ordinary DC electric motor i.e current flowing through a wire in a magnetic field (I used a magnet from an old hard drive) exerts a force perpendicular to the lines of magnetic flux etc etc... I used to make these when I was...
