Agreed. I used a Step file to get my cheeks commercially cut, quite cheaply, which saved a lot of time.
 
I built these clamps in a larger size. I enlarged a file I found on the Internet on the printer, made a mold and sewed the clamp

Nice job! The largest I have are 4-1/2”, and I seldom need them; however, a larger pair could come in handy when I’m using my 2-4-6 blocks.

I did see a pair of (I think) 12” a few years ago at a welding shop: they used hard.
