Malcolm Stride 15cc OHC Nemett Lynx

I was quite taken by the clean simplicity of this engine, so spent some time researching.

and so like many, it seems, that I was attracted to the possibilities and bought his book.
Like others, all that I leaned was the material to use for each component, even cam profiling referred vaguely to seeking out elsewhere.



Searching, it seems that the plans and 80 page booklet were supplied by Traplet Publications, but after the went into liquidation, Sarik only offer the drawings at about £60.
The ME articles may be salvageable, but require an ME subscription.

Seems like I've encountered one of the many cul de sacs.

This is a first IC. I did consider a Webster, but felt that I'd prefer something with proper cams. But as a first, I'd much prefer something:-
From Solid
Has pretty reliable drawings
A guide

My Warco 180 is fine.
My Mill is small, CNC Version of the long bed Peatol/Taig.
Happy to CAD up into 2.5D and Mach3 and or manually mill.

Is there anything similar to the Lynx, equally straightforward?

Probably more chance of finding unicorn droppings than the booklet, it was more or less the same as the Magazine articles. Drawings can be found in the (top) right places.

Hi Robin,
I've built 4 of these engines and can say all worked perfectly I have only built boat engines with flywheel.
Malcom designed a good engine.
I have also built the kiwi 2 from casting ( castings a rubbish) but I got it running and it runs very well.

The picture of the engine shows the cross-section drawings. It does not seem too difficult to use this as a guideline to draw up the engine drawings, and, accordingly, the drawings of the individual parts. Presuming you have some experience in technical drawings, of course.
