Bought from them a couple of years ago but not been in contact since. He does only use German language so you may need to translate your email if that helps

Rotary motion to reversible linear motion

Needle rollers as opposed to "Roller bearings" which have rollers only a bit longer than their dia. Same as used on propshaft UJ's. I understand trying to keep the OD as small as possible but it seems a bit overkill on a model. A polished unhardened shaft with modern bushing will probably...

    Makings of a generator

Thanks Ken. I imagine the whole thing could be printed. The magnets are in a plastic cage which slides out and the new end for the brushes I made out of an odd piece of nylon bar I had lying about. Nothing specific but something like this is what I had in mind.

    Makings of a generator

Tried some new bearings and modified the brush end and a cast foot. It is a serviceable unit at 6+ volts at 900 rpm and 12v + at 1800 rpm. For a final piece I will probably try and get the end caps printed to a more aesthetically pleasing shape, but for now a bit of finishing and painting for...

    Makings of a generator

I have made a motor very similar to Jason's work. 6.5 V at 2500 rpm so more than enough to light several diodes. However this vid. is shown lighting four incandescent bulbs. I did not intend to try this as I am fairly confident it's a typical fake like the free energy vids. but I might mock one...

    Makings of a generator

Your input is always appreciated Ken, Although I think wires are getting crossed here.(pun intended) I started this thread because I came across some old motors that I thought could be converted to "period" generators. Not for any specific application, but to be driven by an engine and do some...

    Makings of a generator

Thanks Ken. I assume either option could increase the operational life of a battery whether the ignition is 1 amp or 5 amps. Certainly a 2:1 drive belt ratio is not a concern. I was just trying to get a feel about what size of model would be needed to drive something like that. I will still...

    Makings of a generator

So a cheap chinese motor works. This is 24V 350W. It was taken from an electric scooter and is about 100mm Dia so suited to a larger sized model. Unfortunately the bearings in this are shot so I am going to make new end caps to look like an old style generator with new bearings. I may also move...

    Makings of a generator

I am sure they could have used a different designation to avoid confusion. Kv is RPM per volt used in brushless motors. As opposed to kV kilovolt. Just checked wiki and it has loads Kv (flow factor), a measure of the flow factor of a liquid Kilovolt (kV), a unit of electric potential Motor...
