This is a link to some pix of my visit to the Warther Musuem.

Warther was a self taught wood and ivory carver. He decided to carve the history of the steam engine beginning with the first known steam engine from 250 BC. He progressed thru some later models and on to the railroad steam engines. The early engines were carved in walnut and beef bone. Later he went back and replaced alot of the bone with ivory. The later engines were done in ebony and ivory and then he made all ivory carvings. All of the text is inlayed ivory and is perfectly done. As a reference to scale, the Bigboy is almost 4 feet long

These pix do not do justice to what this man accomplished. If you are ever near Dover Ohio take an hour or 2 and visit the museum.
