The older Gravely garden tractors with Gravely engines had a "T" head and ran very well. One cam shaft was extended and drove the magneto.

What is the life expectancy of Corian as an insulator, and I’m assuming you’re using a tungsten electrode (aka TIG torch electrode)?

I have been making spark plugs using Corian for over 20 years. Some of them eventually cracked and stopped working, but it was easy to replace the Corian insulator. I use .035 music wire for the center electrode, and .020 for the ground electrode. They work well. I run my engines all day at the shows, so they have quite a few hours on them.

Very interesting Scott. I’ll have to give that a try as well with my next build so I’m not constrained to the usual out-of-scale NGK plug.
