Hi all
Is it possible to have a uniflow compound, where the HP exhaust runs directly into the LP cylinder? (Telescoping or non-telescoping). The answer to this is yes. The Steeple Compound Unaflow design, Skinner Engine Company,1950 is a very late and sophisticated marine engine. I'd glossed this before, but it seems really important to me now, in terms of the history of 'modern' steam engines.

There's wealth of information here

(found via a thread on smokstack).
Is the Badger still running?
