Having lived here in the Chicgoland area for over 30yrs. the wording the village used to explain their viewpoints can best be read in my mind as "what's in it for us?". I can agree that the property is most likely not zoned in accordance to the laws, BUT, on the other hand, I'm sure that the local government officials truly could care less about that fact and are looking at it as a potential means of generating revenues from their citizens. (read: taxes) Too bad it had to come to something like this and will be curious as to its final outcome. I can also appreciate the liability factor involved but c'mon now, the guy is just supplying some joy and happiness to the public in a world where that is becoming harder and harder to find. With any luck, this will have a happy ending without a lot of the usual BS.

I fly RC model airplanes and the same BS is around the corner for us too. Yes accidents happen but life happens too, Maybe a kid will learn from us and inspire to be be .........and to be....and to be! Lawyers and Politicions and Insurance co. for their .....ajenda.....$$$....the vote of the twistable mindless. Maybe they shouldn't sell us tools.... we can hurt ourselves with them. Guys

Just a thought but I don't think there is enough information given by either side to make a valid judgement, although it does look like revenue raising by those whom we elect to serve, (or serve up), us.

For example, I for one would not like an untested unregistered boiler running around in my neighbours backyard or my kids anywhere near it.

I'm not saying this is the case, just citing a what if. As I said above, not enough info.

Point taken and a valid point at that, but I don't think that's the problem. It would seem to be more of a zoneing issue more than anything....which does drive me nuts.....don't they have something better to do?
