Hello and welcome! Those are/were made in Germany for many decades and are very popular. They use an alcohol burner (meths I think the Brits call it) of which there are quite a few types. But each manufacturer had their own and you shouldn't have much trouble finding info about that engine, and a burner for it, by searching the net.

Have fun!

It looks really similar to a Jensen D5 but maybe an older model, I have a newer one, and it uses dry fuel tablets.

As far as worth, how much did you pay for it? The value in something is directly related to your willingness to actually pay for it.

I dont know anything about this model, but I have seen such toy steam engines go for multi-hundred dollars, so I think yur price is in the category of a steal. They are collectors items so of course some models are worth more than others.

I am definitely NOT trying to drive you away, just an attempt to get you more information on the little engine you have.

I spent a fair time on there trying to instill good engineering practises on them.

There is a UK site that deals mainly in these 'Toy Engines' and the people on there might give you more insight into what it is worth, and maybe where to get spares etc.

Hope it helps a little.

If you check ebay and look at completed sales you will get a good idea of value. And as Blog said, that is a deal.
That model appears to take the fuel tablets, check ebay for sources. The tabs fit into a small tray, which you light a slip into the boiler firebox.
The first thing to do is remove the pressure relief valve, you will then likely see a bunch of rust that used to be the spring for the control pressure. About 15 psi, look online for replacement parts. oil everything that moves fill about halfway with water and enjoy.

I was a kid when I had mine, wonderful memories of that time.
