This was posted on a boiler/ full size steam engine site.

here is the part and the the link will follow:
In addition to carbon dioxide, the EPA said five other emissions are believed to cause warming when they concentrate in the atmosphere: methane, which is emitted by gassy cows as well as steam boilers; nitrous oxide, found in cooking sprays and used as anesthesia by dentists, better known as laughing gas; hydrofluorocarbons, which are used in refrigerators and aerosols; perfluorocarbons, a gas permeated by fire extinguishers, refrigerators and high end ski waxes; and sulfur hexafluoride, more commonly known for its use in circuit breakers, switchgear and other electrical equipment.

There were some stories a couple of months ago on it, when the public comment part came out.

I fixed the link

I copied and pasted it into the (what do you call that) bar at top of browser where you enter addresses.

Then it came up.

OK help me out here

Hey its the government! give em a break, just because the secretary copied it wrong. ::)

For propane fired: water H2O and carbon dioxide CO2

In complete combustion, the reactant will burn in oxygen, producing a limited number of products. When a hydrocarbon burns in oxygen, the reaction will only yield carbon dioxide and water. When a hydrocarbon or any fuel burns in air, the combustion products will also include nitrogen. When elements such as carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, and iron are burned, they will yield the most common oxides. Carbon will yield carbon dioxide. Nitrogen will yield nitrogen dioxide. Sulfur will yield sulfur dioxide. Iron will yield iron(III) oxide. It should be noted that complete combustion is almost impossible to achieve. In reality, as actual combustion reactions come to equilibrium, a wide variety of major and minor species will be present. For example, the combustion of methane in air will yield, in addition to the major products of carbon dioxide and water, the minor side reaction products carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides.

When air is the source of the oxygen, nitrogen is by far the largest part of the resultant flue gas.

In reality, combustion processes are never perfect or complete. In flue gases from combustion of carbon (as in coal combustion) or carbon compounds (as in combustion of hydrocarbons, wood etc.) both unburned carbon (as soot) and carbon compounds (CO and others) will be present. Also, when air is the oxidant, some nitrogen can be oxidized to various nitrogen oxides (NOx).

Does that clear up what they are trying to say?

Or in a simpler form to understand, A way for them to "TAX US" and "STEAL" more more for themselves

Sounds like its time for some voting needs to be done come next election season.

;D

Or does than not work anymore?
???

Is that all?
Its getting crazy in OZ with the new carbon emissions laws coming into place.
At the moment large organisations only need to track how much they produce but soon they will have to buy permits for ever tonne they produce a year.

Its that crazy now that I need to track the amount of diesel I use each month on my generator.
Now I can live with that but on mine sites they now have to estimate how much methane is produced every month by the septic tanks on the on-site toilets.

At the moment it is limited to the top few hundred largest polluting companies in Australia but over the next few years it will catch the top 1000 or so polluting companies as the level needed to be emitted is lowered before you have to take part of the scheme.
Failure to comply gives the companies big fines but what is really making the companies comply is the fact that the managing directors of the company also get personal fines in the millions of dollars if they don't comply.

Well from the sounds of it, on the street and talking to people.

1st. I can't find many people that will admit they voted for Obama.

2nd. A lot of people are P.O. that their stimulus checks didn't start coming each month.

3rd. If they change the make up of the House and Senate in the up coming mid term elections. We will see if the so called opinion polls, are even close.

4th. What is going to happen when the auto dealers start whining that they aren't selling any cars. After the C4C program.

And as much sense as it makes to go slower and in smaller segments. It will never happen. As China and other developing countries will "exhale" way more than all the rest of us can save to really make any difference!

This is drifting into politics.
One of the few rules here is to avoid political and religeois discussions I am going to lock this while still realtivly friendly.
