I work on lawn and garden equipment and had to take a .005 gap out of a overhead valve head. Looking for info many say a finish of 60 to 120 grit is most common. 60 if you want to limit gasket creep and 120 if you want more float.
Too fine a finish and the fluids and gases just slip between the surfaces. Too rough and there are leaks down the scratches.
What has been your experiences?
