When the machines I ordered have been shipped. Haven't heard from the shipper I hope they call before they show up so I can get the fork lift lined up. Made space in my garage and measured off where things will be placed. I can hardly wait. My machinist tool box hasn't been opened or used in over 5 years now. I have missed making chips for quite some time, it wont be long now! I'm thinking of ordering a granite surface plate. I see Enco have them on sale right now I kind of want the 24" x 36' but it says the shipping weight is about 500lbs and I don't want to have to line up a fork truck again just for that.

I know the feeling Doc. My new lathe is supposed to be here Monday or Tuesday.

These will be my first machines. I've never had a shop at home before. Other then just an auto repair shop but I've decided I've done my last transmission or motor overhaul. I've never really enjoyed mechanics work as much as I enjoyed working in a machine shop tool room.

I need to remember to find some Vactra #2 oil Monday I'm hoping they will deliver Tuesday or Wednesday. Hopefully they will let me know ahead of time or they will end up waiting for me to get a fork truck to unload them. The mill is suppose to weigh in at 2500 lbs the lathe at 1400lbs a little more than I'm capable of just picking up and putting in place.

Good luck Ron
The machines are going to be fun!
