Hi,
Has anyone had any experience, good or bad, using 303 SS for wet cylinder liners? I would be using CI rings and AL piston in a medium speed multi-cylinder engine. Bore would be 0.75", and the engine would be working under light light to medium load at about 2000 RPM constant speed. Fuel would likely be propane.

The reason for SS, would be eleviating the corrosion in the upper cylinder area from the moisture in propane combustion, especially during short cold runs, and getting away from antifreeze in the cooling system.

Some SS alloys are prone to galling. I don't know if 303 is one of them. My hunch is that SS in general is not a particularly good choice for cylinder liners.
