I have an assortment of assorted 6” or so, rounds and flats in assorted metal types that I would like to store by category (possibly stacking some).

I’m wondering what types of storage devices are popular with home machinists.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

TNX in advance

I built a series of small shelves out of 1"x4" wood, about 36" long. Originally these were behind a door but in my new shop they are just along a wall. They are only about 6" apart so from floor to ceiling there are nearly a dozen shelves. There is a shot of theminmy shop tour video, posted elsewhere in this forum and on youtube.

If I were doing it again I would tip each shelf up in front so small stock cant roll off.

I am working up a storage solution using toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls. 1/8" Masonite at the back to keep things from falling into the abyss behind the shelves.
