I have made several buys of small ball bearings from:
http://stores.ebay.com/RCBoyz
Just do a store search with bearing and one dimension. They have bearings starting from 3/32 inch id going up, and have both inch and metric sized bearings. Good selection with shielded and sealed in both plain and flanged. Prices start at US$1.00 and with the exception of exotic bearings, most are under US$2.00. They have a web site also, but I have found that they have a better selection listed at their eBay store so that is the link I included. For small orders, they ship first class mail, and if you order several items email them for shipping costs and they roll them all into one with an adjusted invoice. One of my orders was for about 40 bearings and total shipping cost was under US$3.00. Shipping was same day on all my orders.
I have used about a dozen in projects so far and am happy with them. I have no connection with RCBoyz other than as a customer.
