Sandblasting ??

I have got an old sandblaster but can't figure out what a spherical container is used for. :fan:

From the description I get that it is a filter system for the sand that falls to the bottom of the blast cabinet. The tube on the side is the correct size for a vacuum cleaner to remove dust.

I made a similar connector on the side of my blast cabinet to suck dust out of the cabinet so I could see the part I was cleaning.

I think I'll have to take this container apart to see what's inside the *******.

As I thought, the green port is for a vacuum to help clear the dust and dirt.
