Some of you remember that I "wiped" a bearing last fall on my boat due to an oil misfeed or blockage....locked the front main up tight. Had to get towed in by one of those "INFERNAL COMBUSTION" boats...but truth be told, the guy who owned the speed boat who towed me liked my boat so much "he wanted to kiss me"......I was glad we were on different boats! ;D
Well, I pulled all the mains this weekend and checked them. The rear two were fine, the front a bit scruffy. No suprise there All the shaft journals looked fine! Not a mark on them.
I took the bearings all down a smidge, and shimed the gaps back. All seems well now. getting the boiler and engine back into the boat should be tomorrow nights project..
