Rudy Kouhoupt's open column steam engine.
This version is double sized. The design was originally a barstock engine. This version uses cast components. This was my first engine whilst casting my own parts.
Except for the flywheel which is zinc, the cast components are aluminum.
Bore is approximately 2-1/2" & stroke is 2".
The sphere I purchased at a hobby store and the wording is 3D print.
This engine is culmination of about nine months of work starting with the creation of the casting equipment. For a simple engine this was a punishing build, considering all the casting issues I had. It was certainly a learning experience.
Where this new knowledge takes me? Who knows.
