I've made some steam engines and a flame licker with success and I wanted to do something "heavier" so I decided to build Ridders 4-stroke with rotary valve. I started in september last year and have built in weekends.
I started with the sparkplugg and then the cylinder, rotating valve, base plate and so on.
Here are som pictures that show the building process. I won't write something to the pics, but if you have som questions so just ask me.
Oh... bye the way. The engine is not finished. It leaks so the gasoline/air mixture don't compress as they should. I must remake the valve. The piston/cylinder doesn't leak. The gases from the Petrol Vapour Carburator sucks into the cylinder and I can get the sparkplugg to ignite the gas mixture in the pistons lower position. POFF!
Now I'll take a break. The weather is warm and I can't get down in the cellar this time on the year.
