hi all been a long time since posting new thread, while not working on a motor but needed to bend exhaust pipes for a car I am restoring.
unfortunately the price goes up when you tell anyone you are restoring a car, they think you have lots of money which is not the case.
so I set out to convert a pipe bender used to bend roll cage pipe to bend exhaust tube. I watched u tube and decided to make a mandrel tube bender using as mentioned pipe bender.
aprox 3 months and lots of late nights I now have a exhaust pipe bender.
50mm x 1.2 wall thickness I can bend aprox 85 degrees and quality would 98% my first bend and 3 others all were same finish.
when my daughter is feeling better I will be posting a video on u tube as I have never found a video of a pipe bender converted able to bend exhaust tube without crushing or rippling and flattening.
I always think if your told it cannot be done go and prove them wrong.
regards lockie
