Problem seeing pictures

I am having a problem in that I cannot see many of the pictures that are included in posts.

Some, yes; but many, no. If one poster puts up some pictures in, say, the first post, and there are pictures in subsequent posts, I am not able to see those either. If there is a reply with other pictures, I may be able to see those, but nothing guaranteed. Other posts, I might see all pictures without any problem - no pattern to this problem.

I'm using Windoz 7 with Opera browser. I've tried using Firefox, but that doesn't make any difference.

Any ideas from the computer gurus?

I did notice the same thing yesterday. When i refreshed the browser they would show. After another refresh some wouldnt show and so on...

As examples - I can't see pictures in

but I can see all the pictures in

I can also see any YouTube links posted.

Refreshed browser, even restarted computer. Most strange and frustrating.

I tried logging off and I could still see the video link, maybe you have some sort of virus on your computer.

Opening up the link shows the picture of the engine clearly.
Could it be the way some of the pictures are uploaded to the forum? I tend to use the 'Manage Attachments' method because it is much quicker (for me) than uploading to PhotoBucket or similar and then adding the link in my post to PB.

I cannot discount the possibility of a virus, but my virus checker/anti-malware programs are up to date and continuously monitoring my computer.

That looks to be the likely problem. The thread you can't see the pics in uses photobucket whilst the other thread uses pics attached directly to the posts within the forum itself.

You can check in your account tab (at the top of the page) down near the bottom you should see 'Forum Options'. Click on that and when the page loads, about half-way down there is a tab of 'Thread Display Options'. Make sure the box to show images is checked. Then save your new options.

If that isn't the problem it could be a security setting within your browser options.

When you get to the photos...click F 11 button (top row, right side) of your keypad & the photos will go full screen. That works with a lot of photos on various sites. Enjoy, John

Click on the 'Edit Forum Options' button in that pulldown, Then you will see the Thread Display Options section that has the image load option.

'Show Images' is already selected.

Just to check everything, I de-selected the 'Show Images' option and sure enough no pictures were displayed, although the links were listed. I used toolznthings engine as the check.

I then RE-Selected the 'Show Images' option and guess what? Pictures are displayed in glorious Technicolour! Weird, or what?

Anyway, many thanks to all who made suggestions and sorry to have wasted everyone's time.

Certainly not a waste of time if it fixed your issue. Reminds me of how I 'fixed' my house air conditioner just yesterday. After it refusing to switch on for a month I flicked the breaker to off, then on and now it works perfectly...
