Here's one near me on May 19 - 20.

Portersville Steam Show

Click on the links down the left side of that page, especially the Gas Lot link!
They even have a flea market to keep the wife busy. ;)
It's a Great Show!

I should be there , I always bring my Stuart Turner models .Jeff

I'll be there. I might even decide to run the beast... if it isn't too muddy.

You'se guys see a fire in the big 20th Century, stop down and you can take it for a spin.

The Portersville show is getting closer.

If you live too far away, here's a teaser for you.
They have a steam powered, line shaft driven machine shop display.
Lathes, shapers, mills and hammers in motion. All powered by an big outside steam engine
turning a couple of overhead line shafts.

No long hair, jewelery or loose clothing in those days!

The static electricity generated by those flat leather belts is enough to get the attention
of anyone who has never been around a line shaft shop before.

Those guys don't kick at the machines before they touch touch them for luck.
That shock just hurts less coming through a boot than it does a finger.

Actually, the Erie steam engine isn't hooked up. There is currently a huge old electric motor up in the rafters to run the line shaft. Steam power was one of those things my pap had planned, but has mostly fallen by the wayside after his death. The Erie is a little small anyway, they have a good sized Troy-Engberg that would work better, but the crankcase oil for those is kind of expensive.

Kim and I have been over there about 2-3 times a week for the last month with various committees, repainting the big beast, and planting trees.

I changed the paint scheme a little since this pic was taken.
