As some of you know, one of my "other" hobbies, besides machining is writing. Don't be alarmed---there is no machining content in what follows, but its funny, its true, and I'm setting right outside my machine shop door as I type this.
Poison Tea!!!
I suffer from chronic insomnia, and consequently I make it an evening ritual to have a cup of herbal tea, at about 7:30 each evening. It is a compound of Camomille, valerian root, and other exotic green things that Im not sure about the names of. It has a rather unusual (but pleasant) smell to it. I jokingly refer to it as my poison tea, and generaly have it while the wife and I are watching Jeapardy on television.
I have a seven year old grand-daughter, Hannah, who is right at the age where beautifull princesses, handsome princes, wicked witches, and enchanted castles fill up her favourite storytimes.
Last week Hannah and her young sister stayed over at grandma and grandpas house while mommy and daddy went to the hospital to pick up a new grandson, Brennen.
The girls were doing fine, and since it was a special treat to have them stay over, wife and I were busy with the girls and neglected to watch Alex and his trio of panelists---and I forgot to have my drink.
Then at about 8:00 oclock my wife suddenly exclaimed---"Oh Brian---You forgot to drink your Poison tea!!!
Hannah immediately got the most stricken look on her face, and like Ricky Arnez used to say, Kathy and I had a Whole lot of splainin to do.
Damn near scared the poor little kid to death!!!
