Piccy Problems

Hi Guys,

For some, (to me), unknown reason posts are loading and showing complete but when I open them individually a heap of pictures are missing. Even with an individual reload of a post still no piccys. The more piccys in a post the more likely I am to have this problem but it appears to be inconsistent.

If others are experiencing the same thing we need to find out why.

If it's only me then I need to find out why.

Feedback would be appreciated, as would suggested fixes.

This may not be the source of your problem, but recently several members have been embedding some huge photo files using IMG codes. 3000+ x 2000+ pixel types. When several of these are near the top of the page and the image hosting site is a little slow it takes a long time to load and resize the photo. Sometimes, even if the photo in a post further down the page is smaller everything gets tied up until the first photos are processed and no photos show up.

On my computer, I can sometimes go check another thread and them come back and everything appears normal as the photo download has completed while I was doing something else and is now placed in the local cache and gets loaded from there rather than the photo hosting site. Sometimes I was able to duplicate things by clearing my local cache and then reloading the thread, but sometimes the smaller photos would load first so things appeared random.

So far once it happens, short of a reboot, which I have not tried, I simply cannot get the pictures to load. I will try your suggestion and report back.
