I just received an email with an invitation to visit an engine site in Germany. This guy has the touch and his varied tastes in engines runs rather close to my own. Three of his engines are already on my build list, one of which I've not found drawings for until visiting his collection.

My hat goes off to Peter's work which can be seen at http://www.dampfundmehr.de/site66.htm . The site is in German but you'll probably only be looking a the pictures anyway....LOL

Holy cow! Not only does he have a great collection, go to his main page and go to "links". All his friends have their web pages linked there!

Interesting how many of the German words can be figured out. Thanks for the link.

Thanks for the link to 'SteamAndMore'.
Gosh...I hope I can get good enough to build such things and in such a variety.

After cruising through a few of his links, it appears that they are already fans of mine and probably don't even know it. The small Beam Engine animation displayed in his web site menu is one I created a few years ago for a graphics and animation contest. It took 3rd place over 3500 entries worldwide. Nearly 50% of his linked sites are, apparently, proudly displaying it. One even took it apart and re-edited it to change the color.

After all this time, I suppose it has almost gained public domain status, especially since I'd only manage to piss off half of Germany by asking them to remove it. It would have been nice for someone to at least ask permission first....(sigh)

You did it for the love of it Steve and glory, not the money.
I'm sure the fact you've got no royalties from it for its use will be more than compensated by the fact you now know its been enjoyed by many people. ::) (just in case it wasn't obvious enough I'm being sarcastic with this comment)

Some seriously nice engines on those sites though.

..... and just think of the tax you didn't 'ave to pay! (so am I)
