Newbie - How to get started? Need Advice

I would suggest getting a copy of Philip Duclos' book. Even if you don't want to build one of his engines, there is a wealth of information on model I.C. engine building including making your own piston rings. The feeling you get when your engine runs for the first time is priceless!
