Hi Bob
Sounds like you had quite night to remember. I cant believe the stupid comment from the CID officers. Anyone with a brain knows you can never have too much stuff in ones shed. Glad they got the thief before you lost some valuable goods.

Been following your number 11 build. Sorry to hear you've had to blow some of your budget on a new roof. pity you can't recover the some of the cost from the b*****d with the broken arm. If as much effort went into helping victims recover damages as the authorities seem to spend on red tape and pointless H & S exercises we would all be happier.
If somebody fell through my roof, they'd have no chance of hiting the floor. Hell, even I have problems finding it at times!
yours
peter

its a pity his arm was the only thing he broke :big:

Glad he didn't make off with any of your tooling :) pity its only his arm ..Seems like this is the way for commonwealth countries nowdays. It is gettting like that in Australia as well and it $%^& me off that the criminal is treated better than the victims. Unfortunatly it seems to coincide with so called multi-culturalism running rampant. At least your roof should be more secure now but watch out it doesn't become electrified ::) ::) :big:
As to heat don't get too worried my shed here is all metal and we get 40C+ days in summer so do what we do and adjust your shed time with the temps ie early mornings or evenings :D
Pete

Bob,

Sorry about your roof, more sorry about the cause. Ah well at least he has suffered some personal damage from it, although his neck would have been more satisfactory.

Best Regards
Bob

HI all thanks for your comments i have past the bill on to the police for the cost of replasing the roof but I'm not holding my breath to see if i get anything of the thief i go in contact with my insurance company and guess Wat i ant got a hope in hell of getting out from them as they have shed that corrugated fiber bored is not considered a stubble roof covering to prevent brake ins

all insurance companies seem to try and avoid paying out. if it wasn't secure why did they insure it?
re the bill to the cops I reckon its about time the state, county or country had a victims of crime payment to cover this and sell off all the gear the thief/thieves owns to put into it. But then that would encourage them to thieve more
Cheers
Pete

Sorry to here about your break in, but at least he is not suing you for his broken arm like they can in some parts of the world.
I once heard about a guy broke into a house through the roof and fell through the ceiling onto a kitchen knife and he sued the owners.

You will find the new steel roof to be a lot noisier when it rains and letting noise out when using tools. I would put some insulation under it to take this away and make it more comfortable to work in.

I know that most of the rest of the world considers Texans to be "barbaric" gun-toting neanderthals, but we don't seem to have as much private property break-in crime either.

:)

I'm off to my aero-space industry backwoods redneck job now.
