Hi All,
New guy on the site. I've been building model aircraft for the past 50 years and decided I needed a change of pace. So being a mechanical engineer, machining seemed interesting. I've been doing autocad for the past 20 years and now solidworks. I started the ME hobby about 3 years ago and have made a few stirlings and steamers. Now, I just finally got my Coles small hit and miss to hit. Miss will be next. I do have one problem, vibration! I balanced the flywheels and crank on my prop balancer a little help. Then I tried balancing crank, wheels, conn rod and piston. More help! Does anybody have the secret? Or is it just hit and miss???? :D
Here is a link to my club site with pic's of my stuff. I'm the pic's with the green backround

There is a paper by ET Westbury on balancing small engines. This is freely available on the net but I can't remember the link.

Hope this helps. ???

Best Regards
Bob
