My friend in Tool and Die gave me some more scrap pieces. Seems they are moving their shop and are throwing out all sorts of old stuff rather than move it. So he rescued these for me.

Left one is solid brass and cut for a worm gear. Middle is steel and is for a cog type belt. Right one is steel and has straight gear teeth. Right one is 3/4" thick and pretty heavy. This will total 5 pieces that should make interesting flywheels. Already used two others on my last project.

Gotta love free stuff.

Any idea where we are on the longer DRO scales for the Grizzly units?

I think they were looking at April - May. But then the retail folks have to put it into their product line up. If I hear anything I'll post about it.

Nice free stuff!
You might find another use for the worm gear, providing it has a useful tooth count. Get a worm and make something that goes 'round and 'round.
