Marking pen

How can I mark small parts. I have a vibrating and a rotary marker but they do not work very well for marking small pieces. This came up because I wanted to mark the size on a .183 reamer. I seem to remember that there is an acid etching pen available but I cannot find anything for that small a piece. Any ideas?

Laser etching works really well for this sort of thing.

Here is one that I have used. Part must be cleaned very well. Pen dries out in about a year after opening plastic bag. Point is fine enough for small work. Not extremely durable with abrasion but fairly good for solvent resistance.

I plan to build an electric arc engraving pencil for future usage.

The price on the pens was a bit of a shocker to me. I bought several about 5 years ago and they were under $4 then as I recall.
