Well actually, my second build. The Muskoka Pioneer Power Show was held today in Bracebridge, Ontario and I was asked to exhibit my 1931 Model A Ford. I asked if there were going to be any miniature steam engines exhibited, and was told yes, bring mine along if I wanted to. I wish I had taken my camera------There were many collectors of steam toys there, along with full sized steam engines, hit and miss engines, and Stirling engines. The very first fellow I talked to had about 10 small engines running, and had a spare compressed air tap, so I asked if I could put my double wobbler on his table, and he was happy to do so. There were a lot of small machines being driven by these operating engines--a lot of line shaft technology, and---a cement mixer---a table saw---a man sharpening a scythe on a grindstone, a fan--a ferris wheel---a man driving fence posts, a buzz-saw---and my wifes favourite---a bubble blowing machine, which consisted of 4 bubble "wands" dipping into a trough of soapy water, then being presented to a fan which blew bubbles---my wife immediately told me that I had to make one for our 4 year old grand daughter who loves blowing bubbles!!! It was a very dark and threatning kind of day, but the rain held off untill we were about 10 miles from home on our return trip---this is always somewhat exciting when driving the Model A, as it does not have roll-up side windows, and I never bothered to make a set of side curtains for it. We got a bit damp, but, Oh Well, it was a fun day, and we've both been wet before.---Brian

I love going to shows and seeing all the unique items people display. I haven't had the opportunity yet to display any of mine. I hope to very soon. Maybe I can convince Tin Falcon to let me sit with him next show!

Congrats on your first display. I bet it felt really good!

Eric

congrats Brian I have been displaying for five years now can be a lot of fun
Tin

I will be heading up to Bracebridge Power show tommorrow, sounds like I will need my camera

Nice going Brian. Hope you had fun.

Eric - Tin Falcon helped me setup for my first show and helped a lot. He's a great resource. Now I try to do as many shows as I can.

Cheers,
Phil

i have gone to that show every year for the last 10 or 15 years............but the year i don't go...........dam i could have met you Brian and seen your engine (and car) first hand. it would have been nice to put a face to the name 8)

oh well , i'm glad you had a good time..........the guys there are ALL a great bunch of guys and the show has allot of activities going on.
the guy with the bubble blower is a retired teacher, i have known him for along time. was he running his wood lathe?

the guys in the model building are an interesting bunch  there should have been a guy there with some model hit and miss engines and he also has a very interesting gas engine called an atkinson differential engine. it has 2 pistons that come together in the middle of a single cylinder. he should also have had a disk engine that run on air. that guy is my good friend Ed (the guy that showed me how to make spark plugs).

Brian are you going to the cookstown show, it is the first weekend of august? if so i hope to see you there.
i will be there with my dad, he will have full size engines and i will have some of my model engines there as well.

Chuck--Yes, I plan on going to the Cookstown show, probably on Saturday. The fellow you mentioned Ed was at Bracebridge with the Atkinson engine.--I think that engine is the same as the " opposed #30" engine in "Elmers Engines", isn't it? It would be nice if we can meet at the Cookstown show.
