My wife and I are auction hounds.

Every spring I remind everyone to check their local listings on AuctionZip.

I just check our local listings for this weekend.
Give THIS ONE a look.
Click on the "View Photo Gallery" for pictures.

They have a 1950's model saw mill, 2 Jenson stream engines, Mamod steam engine, treadle jigsaw
and a treadle wood lathe.

Guess where I'll be Saturday morning!

Rick

Good luck!!!

I like the sounds of the treadle lathe and jigsaw!

I've even got a date! :D

My wife collects pink depression glass.

As you can see, we need more of it. ::)

When she saw the child's set of pink depression glass on that listing she's was all IN!
I had missed that somehow, when I viewed the listing......

Rick

How could you miss the glass???? ;D
Must have been more focused on the
man cave items.... :big:

Depression glass has made quite the
comeback in the past few years!
Lots of good pieces in an antique store
in Stratford Ontario. Some of the better
pieces can cost a fortune!!

Let us know how you make out at the auction!
And we want pictures!!!

Andrew

Just got back home from the auction.

The wife's bidding on the glass didn't go so well, but she did win some.

I won two of mine. (Paying closer to retail than I'd hoped, but what to heck.)

The Mamod is missing the safety valve. That will cost me another $20.
The Jensen is complete, just needs some cleaning up.

The treadle lathe sold for $65 and the treadle jigsaw went for $75.
I wasn't bidding on them but it they were cool to see.

All totaled we spent $200 and had a great time doing it!

I couldn't wait.

After a quick cleaning and oiling, I set the regulator on my compressor to 35 PSI.
It runs!

NEVER use full pressure air to test run one of these engines,
Especially when you are using the safety valve port to introduce that air pressure. ::)

Rick

Sweeeeet!!!!! ;D

Looks like you came out smiling!!!!
When is he next auction! :big:

Andrew

Couldn't do another auction next weekend if there were one.

The Pittsburgh Golf Show is next weekend!
The wife won't go with me to that sale, it's a guys day out.
Beer carts open at 9:00 AM there, AND they have all kinds of new golf stuff!

Last year one of the guys who went with us said he had to buy at least 2 new golf clubs this year.
We asked him why?

"Because my wife said if I bought ONE more new golf club, she'd kill me!"

I'm sure there's some logic there. scratch.gif
