I know this isn't an engine but the skill presented in this thread is way above average. This thread is in german/english and is a log of a RC jet build. Pack a lunch it's 83 pages and after about 5 pages in I knew I was in until the end.

All I can say is wow.
Can I see myself doing a project like that well yes and no. Time and space issues aside. I have done most of that kind of work. I have built full size 40 ft plus yacht deck patterns from scratch by hand with lots of experienced help and guidance. I have helped make molds off those patterns. I have worked making fiberglass parts from molds. I have done aircraft sheet metal work on real aircraft and painted aircraft parts. And I have integrated electronics with stepper motors in the form of small cnc . but that is amazing.
