hi to all members and visitors here at hmem.
my real name is knut hambrecht. i'm from german origin, both parent hail from the than west germany. i was born and raised here in namibia and i love it.
my original choice of hobby is model trains gauge h0, mainly maeklin.
i also do radio controlled electric helis and cars (with my four sons) and lucky for them, dad still pays for everything.
i recently walked into our local hobby store, which is in swakopmund, where i stay, and saw some wilesco steam engines. i'm a firm believer of the support-your-local-industry-opinion, but when prices are outrages, even i go look over the horizon. so i bought a wilesco d24 for euro377 on ebay, which is the same price as a d16 locally.
i saw on youtube a steam engine driving a nodding donkey made from a meccano kit and decided i want one aswell, but a bit more scale like.
well, since the web is a wast pool of info, i came across this forum.
once i have what i want and build it, i will post some photos.
regards,
knut
