I had an opportunity to play with one of those Sieg C0 Lathes.
It would take a few modifications to make it solid, but most
Sieg machines require the same efforts.

I think all of the Seif machines are changing, different motor controllers or something, but I've seen several of the small mills discontinued in threads on CNCzone.

The small Seig x1 Micro Mill has been discontinued at Harbor Freight. HF was the only one importing this model. Jet has a similar unit with added features, if you consider a tilting column a feature. I am happy with my X1 but it broke and HF has no parts so HF is giving me full value trade up on the X2. Some of their store managers are really nice people to get to know.

I hope they don't discontinue the X2. I don't want to spend the bucks for the X3.

Thank you for that much more knowledgeable reply.

There ya go, Dean; what he said!

Heh. My experience with a Sieg 7x10 lathe was less than stellar. The final straw was the failure of the motor controller. Out of warranty of course....

On a funny side note... I may be working at the H-F store here part time starting next week....
