Being from Punxsutawney PA I had to say that!

By 6:00AM tomorrow morning this little town will have 6 times it's population
in visitors here to watch the little brown fuzzy pig give it's prediction of how soon
winter will end.

Today we woke up to an ice storm. When I got home from work I scraped what I could
off the sidewalks as driveway, then scattered about 8 pounds of calcium chloride pellets.
Now I have 1/2 thick ice with a million little holes melted through it. ::)

The pressure is really on the rodent this year! LOL

It IS a nice thing for a little town to.
It's crazy, strange and a whole lot of fun!
My wife and I won't be going to the show. We will be at home preparing a huge breakfast
for our son's college friends who are coming to see it for the first time.

This is LAST Years Big Event.

If anyone here would ever be interested in coming to Punxsutawney for Groundhog Day
24 hours notice will guarantee you a free breakfast at our home.
I can't offer beds for overnighters they fill up fast. But there's a lot of free floor space
for the indoor campers. ;)

Happy GH Day! "Keep on Scratchin'!"

I'm glad you have the "original" groundhog. In the Lancaster area there is "Octorerra Orphie". He is cellebrating his 100th birthday. He looks good for a stuffed (mounted) groundhog. We also have "Pagoda Patti" in the Reading / Berks County area. I don't think anyone remembers the predictions unless we have a blizzard.

Well the Groundhog has spoken.

He saw a shadow so the verdict is 6 more weeks of winter.

Now for the numbers.
This tiny town has a population of about 6200 residents.
MSNBC is saying there were approxamity 40,000 visitors at this mornings events.
I sat at a traffic light for 25 minutes where on a normal day 4 cars ahead of you is
considered heavy traffic. :D

It is all just a goofy, early spring break here, but it brings a lot of revenue to a
geriatric little town every year.

I can't imagine 40,000 people in Punxy. I lived in State College all my life till I moved to Abq 18 yrs ago
but never paid a visit to Punxsutawney sorry to say.
Thats even worse than what happend here during Baloon Fiesta, :)
...lew...

Gonna' have to go down there one of these times and see that for myself.

I heard that he saw his shadow this year and we are going to get another 6 weeks in the workshop. ;D

YaHOOOOO!

Bernd

I could do 6 more weeks like yesterday.. low of 40, high of 72 ('F). Not only did I see my shadow, I got a sunburn. Trouble is that sort of day keeps me out of the shop. ;)
