I hope everyones Father's Day was a good one!

Mine was GREAT!

My younger boy is working away this summer but he did call.
My Dad and older boy were here for dinner.

That came with an added bonus.
My older boy's girlfriend has a 5 year old little angel who says I'm
her favorite Pappy.

OK so I failed the test after that dancing lesson, but I tried!!!! :D

It makes it all worth while...

As I get older, the kids have begun stretching my special days into special weekends. I was awakened yesterday morning and told to get ready to travel. My daughter and 3 of my grand kids were at Myrtle Beach all week and we met them at the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia SC for a full day of fun.

During the day, each of the grandkids snatched me away from the crowd, so that each one of them got my undivided attention at some point. I'm might be getting old and soft hearted, but I can't think of a thing that they could have given me that could have topped getting to spend time with each of them. Then they dropped on us again today, just to to make my Fathers day official.

Jeeeeze... I do like my life...LOL

i'm glad to hear you all have had a great fathers day!!!!

i don't have kids of my own but my girlfriend has a 15 year old son and a 18 year old daughter.
they have never called me dad but i call them my kids, i love the more that anything in the world, just like any kid they drive me krazy sometimes but most times they are the best!

well this morning they supprised me and their mom by giving me a fathers day card, i was speechless ....it was so touching to know that they think of me as a dad. ;D

it's kinda scary that they think of me this way cause now i might have to act like a dad................

then to make my day better my dad, mom, sister and nephew show up unexpectedly so this was indeed a great day!!!!

This is maybe a little late for this this post, but I will tell you about my 'kids'.

Unfortunately, my better half and myself were unable to have children of our own, so many years ago we decided to foster. Only short term (so we thought), just to give other families the chance to get themselves together.
In the late 70's a pair of very badly undernourished and maltreated children were dropped on us for a max of seven weeks. The younger one, aged 8, was so badly mentally disturbed that she had to go to a special rehabilitation centre to get over her fears, cigarette burns on the arms tend to do that to young kids. Unfortunately she never returned to us, but we do have a little bit of contact occasionally. She is still very disturbed and insecure.
The older one, aged nine, although she had had the same sort of treatment from her 'parents', was a lot less disturbed. She had to be, she was raising four younger siblings, as 'mom' didn't come home very often overnight, and when she did, they had a new 'dad' each time.
Anyway to get back to the main story. This young girl decided she wanted to stay with us a little longer. In fact it ended up at thirty years. She has given us three wonderful grandchildren, one of whom decided to come and stay with us for nearly the last ten years (see attached pic) due to father problems (now sorted).

None of these children are legally ours, but every one of them, including our daughter, has accepted us, even though they know their roots. To them we are mum, dad, nanna and grandad.

Our grandson (pictured in his new school uniform), even has exactly the same sense of humour I have. Pity the world when he gets older.

What more could a person want out of life?

It was a good father's day for me. Called my dad and got to chat for a few minutes. My youngest is far too young to know what is going on... but for a 3 month old, I got a lot of smiles today. My oldest called me own his own for the first time (he is 8) on father's day. His mum doesn't have him call me usually on holidays such as these (or my birthday). So it was nice that he called.

I hope everyone remembered their dads today... if not in person, then at least in spirit.

Eric

I second that!

We had three Dads here for Father's Day.

Same here. Happy Father's Day.

My expecting daughter came over with her husband.
A new Dad in the making! It's amazing to watch the transformation.

The very best to all.

Thanks Tin
. The same to you and everyone else.

I must admit, you had me thinking that I had just come out of a three month coma th_wtf1
I must have missed all the advertising on TV.
until I checked the net for wisdom.

In the USA, UK and Canada - Fathers' Day is celebrated on the 3rd Sunday in June since being made a national holiday in 1966. In Australia and New Zealand, fathers are honoured the first Sunday in September. Other countries celebrate fathers throughout the year.

Cheers from down under,
Phil

Here in Portugal it's 19th of March. ??? I think it has something to do with Joseph father of Jesus.
