Michael,
Someone sure has got green fingers in your family, and because of that, you can be sure you are eating the best that can be had, rather than the processed and tasteless crap we get in supermarkets.
I remember years ago, when we had a tiny but soiled garden in a house we lived in, we tried to grow some vegetables. Being a total beginner, the ground ended up too hard and we ended up with curly carrots. They looked as though they were growing fine until we pulled them up. They couldn't penetrate down into the soil and so grew like a spiral just under the surface.
That was the time I realised that I was destined to have greasy hands rather than green ones.
Many thanks for showing me how the other half does it, the right way.
