Hello everyone,

I would like to start making castings and patterns at work (Technical College in Rhode Island). I think it would be nice to be able to at least melt Aluminum. Is there a good supplier that would have everything needed to get this started?

I'm thinking an electric furnace? A sand mold kit to go with it?

Any suggestions and contacts will be most helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for vendor info. Given me some good ideas. The next stage of engine building will pouring DIY Engine Castings. Activities very limited in my Balcony MachineShop. So will be limited to mini castings. Will be aluminum. Do they supply degassing cakes and refining chemicals too. Some enthusiats use baking soda and even table salt.
