This is totally off topic for model engines, but somewhat related because it has kept me away from model engine building for several months. I just finished completely refacing the kitchen cabinets. Took me something over 200 hours total.
Here is the before picture. That is actually a color photo, not black and white. Cabinets are Oak, but have been painted black... ugh! Also, backsplash tile is painted white.
And here is the updated kitchen. We retiled the backsplash. The doors, drawer fronts, and moulding are all new, solid maple. The sides are covered in prefinished maple plywood and the faces are recovered with prefinished maple veneer. You can see on the walls beside the cabinets where the spouse is trying out various new wall colors. I kind of like the patchwork affect!
