Not sure if this is the right area of the forum so please feel free to move if not.

Recently I picked up a 5” gauge City of Truro, which I think is a lovely model and there are some decorative pieces on it, however some are missing. In particular I’m referring to, what I believe are oil boxes on each axle as shown in the picture through the link

Does anyone know if these are available anywhere? Or do you think they have been made by hand? I’m not sure how to go about making them by hand, especially with the hinge being so small. Any further information or pointers would be greatly appreciated

They will almost certainly have been made by hand . Where are you situated ? if you are unable to make them yourself I could probably make them for you if you are in the UK.
Dan.

Thanks for the resposne Dan

Yeah i'm based in the UK, leicestershire area. I'm fairly competant in the workshop, but i've never had much success with doing small fiddly jobs like this. I was either thinking of using some brass sheet and then fold it over to make the hinge part, or drill a hole for the hinge and then machine it down to get the flap. I guess it'll be a case of trial and error but figured it worth a question on here if anyone knew of a better way of doing it!
