I had to pick a project for my CAD/CAM class which uses MasterCam and our Haas Mini Mill. I chose to design and make fidget spinners. I felt it was a good project to learn MasterCam, 2D CNC milling, and fixture design. Most night students have children so in the end, the "adult" learns the course content and they each take home a fidget spinner for themselves, their children, or in some cases grandchildren. I've made one which has 3 bottle cap opener feature instead of where the 3 bearing/weights go but never took a pic.
I'm still learning CNC...it's getting more fun each day. I made the fixture on the Bridgeport though...using Proto-Trak. Turned the mounting caps on a manual lathe. I want to make one out of brass next!
