Hi all,

I've finally got off my but (well a bit) and decided to sell my Centec 2A Horizontal Milling Machine.

I've given the base a lick of paint but left the original paint on the machine. It's in great condition for its age and is a really high quality, heavy, rigid machine but also quite compact.

There is a lot of information on the Centec here: http://www.lathes.co.uk/centec/index.html

Mine is the under-drive type with a proper, heavy gauge base and suds tray. There is no suds pump but the pipework is present.

The motor (I assume original) is a Brook 750W 3 Phase 220V according to the plate. At some point somebody must have re-wired it possibly incorporating a static phase converter as it runs on a 240V single phase power supply! I didn't realise it had a 3 phase motor until I looked recently - when I got it, there were 3 wires sticking out, so I just wired it up as normal and it worked. I can't therefore state whether it's safe to run like it is without taking the motor out and seeing what's been done. Ideally you'd want to swap the motor for a single phase or buy in inverter to run it which would also give you variable speed.

I've never really used it in anger to be honest, have tried it a couple of times and it gave very good results, but my vertical mill can do almost everything the horizontal can and I only have 1 vice so it's never really had any use since I bought it.

It comes with a selection of milling cutters and a tailstock.

If you have any more questions please ask away and I'll try to answer.

I want as near as I can to £350 for it.

Collection only, I live in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham (North East England, about 30 miles south of Newcastle) (Postcode: DL5)

Please see pics below.

Thanks,

Nick

Reduced to £299 !

I'd rather not pay the massive ebay fees so seller and buyer can benefit!

Cheers,

Nick

Can you deliver to the states :big: :big:

Wish I could!

Yep, there are quite a few cutters, some of them haven't been used, some have had little use - they seem to be in good condition as they've just been left in plastic bags for years.

It's one of those things, really I'd like to keep it and get another vice - but that will cost more money, at a time when I need money to come in, not to spend more! I've got the vertical bench mill now, so for the amount of times I've used it or will use it I might as well try to get some money back.

Nick

That's a very nice looking Centec Nick, good luck with the sale.

Vic.

Cheers John, have put it on there, it's only been on a day at the reduced price so fingers crossed!

Nick

Further reduced, I need to sell this:

£249 No Offers

Cheers,

Nick
