Brass or copper

Hi all in the plans for the steam tractor l am building rudy says to use brass tube for the exhaust pipe ,but will copper pipe be ok? to use also the steam pipe is the same size 1/8" dia again will copper be ok ,as l have copper but no brass in that size.

Copper will be perfect for both jobs Wes, and I would recommend silver soldering rather than soft plumbing solder if at all possible.
