I'm researching doing a pulley and belt swap on my HF mini lathe All things being the same, is there any advantage of going with a XL(trapezoidal) in 9mm width vs. a HTD(curvilinear (I think this is the "5M" design)) in 10mm width. The only thing I have found is a couple of descriptions where it is stated that the XL may be quieter.
