Hi gang. I think it's time to talk:hDe: a little bit.
I've been having many discussion with different member lately and I don't like that situation. I would like to resolve this for once and for all with all due respect also

First I wood like to apologize to any person that my comment or opinion could have frustrated or insulted in the last few week. It sure as hell was not my goal to insult anyone.
I'm a French person trying to explain myself in English with different not orthodox manner, but insulting someone or lack of respect is surely not my goal, maybe that's why I fire up so bad when I receive lack of respect.

I would really like to put those last weeks in the history book and start from scratch. I know I can be a friendly person if handle properly:fan:
All I'm asking is please If for some reason I comment something or do something and it really does not reflect the etiquette of this forum email me
at [email protected] and let me know I will be more then happy to correct my mistake what ever it is.

You must realize it take some humble pie to right this so please if you have any sarcastic comment don't share it with other's on line and you will change your opinion about me one day

cheers
Luc

It takes a big man to say that! I think it's self evident the majority does not want you banned... after all you have 73 likes on your posts at the time I'm writing this!

Luc, I for one am more than happy to accept your public apology. No one likes to be treated disrespectfully. It is so easy to say something that another person can take as being disrespectful. It took me 30 years in the workforce before I finally learnt that everybody has a different view of the world to me. The next learning was that if something is said that is perceived as being hurtful by somebody, then it is; even if hurt or disrespect was not intended. This is even more difficult to get right when we have members spread around the world from many different cultures and in many cases contributors writing in a language other than their own.

I have also learnt that sometimes it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt. Believe it or not, we share quite a bit in common about how the way we view and respond to the world around us. I now try hard to bite my tongue with the benefit of hard earnt wisdom. Sometimes I succeed.

We only get to know each other on this forum through the words we write and sometimes we need to stop and think about how our message could be percieved. Many a time, I have written stuff when angry at work but have learnt to leave it as a draft overnight before hitting the send button. In a calmer mood, I usually just delete what I have written but remain smug because I got it off my chest!

In the short time I have been on this forum I have seen you have enormous knowledge about machining and model making and are willing to share that knowledge. I respect you for that. I hope you continue to contribute.

Thank's for posting that, Luc. I find that when posting on discussion groups like this you have to be extra careful about what you say, because no one can see you smile when you say it. I don't think anyone disrespects you here, because you obviously have a lot of knowledge. They might have a different opinion than you on some matter, but, hey, they are entitled to their own opinion even if it's wrong.

By the way, I ordered a copy of the Bob Shores magneto book you recommended. Over $50 with shipping! So that shows how much I value your opinion.

Good call, I totally agree.
typed words will never replace spoken words.

Luc,

I have used the tips and tricks you have posted in the past, for that I value your input, Keep smiling mate hopefully it all will blow over soon.

To everybody reading this,

You know it is a shame when the tension is in the air. I know for one I don't like it when I have to walk on eggshells in fear of upsetting someone within the comments I post. HMEM never used to be like this.

This forum still is a happy and friendly place to share our ideas and experiences, maybe dropped the ball a bit lately but nothing we all can't fix.

Life's too short to be angry, upset etc.

We all have one thing in common, Model Engineering.

I will make it clear that this section of the post is not directed at anybody but is my true feeling on the matter of the moral at the moment.

Please lets keep moving forward. :hDe:

Baz.
